Microsoft is now in the process of acquiring a large number of cloud computing companies and launching a new product line.
The company announced the acquisition Wednesday.
Amazon announced the deal last month, and the company is now the world’s largest online retailer.
The deal includes several companies that offer software-as-a-service (SaaS) services.
The acquisition includes Salesforce, which has been one of Microsoft’s primary rivals in the SaaS space for years.
Microsoft has a strong foothold in the cloud business.
Amazon and its partners have been growing the business and have grown into the number two and three cloud service providers in the world, respectively.
The companies are also the top three cloud providers in terms of revenue and are poised to grow in the coming years.
Microsoft is spending $9.6 billion on acquisitions this year, according to estimates by research firm Strategy Analytics.
The deals include Amazon, Google and Twitter.
